CSC and Waves OTT Partner to Boost Digital Entertainment and VLE Earnings

In a significant development aimed at expanding digital entertainment and empowering Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs), Common Service Centers (CSCs) and Waves OTT (Sanchar Bharti) have announced a strategic partnership. This collaboration introduces a new opportunity for VLEs to earn commission by facilitating registrations for the Waves OTT mobile application for themselves and for citizens.

Waves OTT: A Hub for Indian Entertainment

Waves OTT, an entertainment application from Sanchar Bharti, offers a rich collection of new and old music, captivating stories, and programs from Doordarshan and All India Radio. It aims to be a comprehensive digital entertainment platform accessible to a wide audience across India.

Lucrative Commission for VLEs: ₹12 Per Registration

Under this new agreement, CSC VLEs stand to earn a commission of ₹12 for every successful registration, applicable to both self-registration by the VLE and customer registrations facilitated by them. This presents a substantial opportunity for VLEs to enhance their income by promoting digital services.

Key Condition for Commission:

It is crucial to note that commission will only be paid if the registration is done using the mobile number registered with CSC (CSC registered mobile number). Any registrations made using a different mobile number will not be eligible for the commission.

Streamlined Registration Process

The registration process has been designed to be straightforward and accessible:

For VLE Self-Registration:

VLEs must visit the official CSC Waves OTT portal link: https://wavesappregistration.csccloud.in/
Login using their CSC ID and password.
Enter the VLE's name and the mobile number registered with the Digital Seva Portal.
Verify the mobile number using the OTP received.
After successful verification, VLEs can download the Waves OTT app from the Google Play Store (for Android) or App Store (for iOS).
Upon opening the app, select the preferred language and register using the same verified mobile number.

For Customer Registration (Facilitated by VLEs):

VLEs can significantly increase their earnings by registering citizens visiting their centers on the Waves OTT app. For every successful customer registration, the VLE will receive an additional ₹12 commission.

Crucial Step for Customer Registration:

When registering a customer, it is mandatory for the customer to enter the VLE's CSC registered mobile number in the "Have a referral code" option within the Waves OTT app. Without this, the VLE will not receive the commission.

The step-by-step process for customer registration is as follows:

VLEs go to the Digital Seva web connect portal: https://wavesappregistration.csccloud.in/ and verify the customer's name and mobile number.
Download the Waves OTT app on the customer's mobile phone.
Inside the app, select the language and then, under the "Have a referral code" option, the VLE must enter their CSC registered mobile number.
Enter the customer's mobile number, verify it with an OTP, and complete the registration.

Important Instructions for Compliance:

Only use the mobile number registered with your CSC account for all registrations to ensure commission payment.
Avoid using the same mobile device for both VLE and customer registrations. IMEI data will be verified; customers must use their own distinct mobile devices.

Future Outlook and App Availability

Currently, the service primarily focuses on VLE-facilitated registrations. However, it is anticipated that in the future, the facility for general citizens to register directly will also be made available through the Digital Seva Portal.

The Waves OTT app can be downloaded by Android users from the Google Play Store and by iOS users from the Apple App Store.

This partnership marks a forward step in CSC's ongoing efforts to diversify services and create new avenues of income for its VLEs, while simultaneously expanding access to digital entertainment for millions across India.
