Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi talking about CSC at Silver Jubilee Celebration of TRAI
PM Modi Hails Common Service Centers as Pillars of Digital Empowerment and Rural Employment
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded the pivotal role of Common Service Centers (CSCs) across India, highlighting their expansive reach and significant contribution to digital service delivery and employment generation in rural areas. Speaking recently, the Prime Minister emphasized CSCs as a prime example of the nation's efforts towards inclusive development.
"An example of this is the 4 lakh Common Service Centers established in every corner of the country," stated Prime Minister Modi, underscoring the vast network that has transformed access to governance. He noted that through these CSCs, "hundreds of government services are reaching the people in villages today." This network effectively bridges the gap between government schemes and the last mile, ensuring that citizens in remote areas can access essential services with ease.
Beyond service delivery, the Prime Minister also highlighted the profound impact of CSCs on the livelihoods of India's youth. "These Common Service Centers have also become a medium for employment for lakhs of youth," he affirmed. This points to the entrepreneurial ecosystem fostered by the CSC program, enabling Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) to become self-reliant and create local job opportunities.
In a heartwarming anecdote, Prime Minister Modi recounted a recent experience during a program in Gujarat. He shared meeting a differently-abled couple in the tribal area of Dahod district who are successfully running a Common Service Center. The couple, as narrated by PM Modi, shared how initial support enabled them to start their venture. "Today, they are earning ₹28,000 to ₹30,000 in a remote tribal village through the Common Service Center," he proudly announced. This inspiring story underscored not only the economic empowerment facilitated by CSCs but also the fact that "citizens in tribal areas also understand what these services are, how to avail them, and how meaningful these services are." He concluded by noting that this differently-abled couple is not only earning a livelihood but also diligently serving the people in their small village.
Prime Minister Modi's remarks reinforce the government's commitment to leveraging technology for inclusive growth. The success of CSCs, as articulated by the Prime Minister, stands as a testament to their role in actualizing the vision of Digital India, empowering communities, and creating sustainable livelihoods, especially for the marginalized sections of society. The extensive network of CSCs continues to be a cornerstone in the journey towards a digitally empowered and self-reliant India.
